Enmaeya recently published a feature highlighting the work of three Lebanese NGOs responding to the growing needs of displaced persons with disabilities across the country.
The article explains how local organizations have become essential in delivering humanitarian support as needs continue to rise and resources become increasingly limited.
Among the organizations featured was Al-Amal Association for Development and Social Care, recognized for its emergency-driven response and commitment to disability inclusion.
According to Enmaeya:
“Al-Amal Association for Development and Social Care has taken a more emergency-driven approach, adapting its programs to meet the urgent needs of war-affected populations.”
The report also highlighted the words of Program Development Coordinator Malak Housna, who emphasized that disability inclusion remains at the center of the organization’s humanitarian response.
Al Amal currently operates across Saida, Iqlim El Kharroub, and northern Lebanon’s Dinnieh region, providing:
• Prosthetic limbs
• Wheelchairs and crutches
• Medication and medical support
• Food assistance and hygiene kits
• Rehabilitation and mobility support for amputees and injured individuals
As quoted in the article:
“Our work places a strong emphasis on restoring mobility, dignity, and independence.”
The feature also shed light on the growing challenges facing humanitarian organizations in Lebanon, including rising medical supply costs, limited funding, and difficulties reaching affected communities — especially when providing high-cost services such as prosthetic care.
Al Amal welcomes support through:
• Financial contributions
• In-kind donations, especially mobility aids and medical supplies
• Partnerships and collaborations
• Volunteering opportunities
